This qualification provides a trade outcome in Solid Plastering, covering work in residential & commercial applications.

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

20 units of competency:

  • 15 core units
  • 5 elective units

Some units in this qualification may have prerequisite requirements, which must be met when packaging the qualification. Users are referred to the list of CPC08 units with prerequisite unit requirements available in this Training Package for this purpose.

We currently offer this qualification as:

  • an Apprenticeship over 48 months (expected completion 42 months) or
  • RPL assessment only with a maximum duration of 3 months

When this is received at our office (email/fax/post), Building Industry Training will provide you with the necessary documents/learning resources/assessments and the details of your trainer so you can begin your studies.

Course costs and payment options are attached on the payment form/course information. Refunds will not be issued to students due to change of mind once the training/assessment process has commenced.

Individuals undertaking RPL assessments for this qualification will have 4 years’ experience as a minimum in the construction industry.

This qualification is just one of the requirements for an individual to obtain a licence with their states regulatory body. Please consult with your local authority to ensure you are eligible and meet other criteria prior to commencing studies with Building Industry Training. After the completion of this qualification it is recommended that the student undertake an Approved Managerial Course for Trade Contractors or Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
